Get to know Mile Jedinak
Learn more about #TeamHisense Ambassador, Mile Jedinak.
Born Michael John Jedinak, Mile received his nickname (pronounced me-lay) when he was young – and the name stuck!
After taking up soccer at a young age, Jedinak’s passion and talent shone when he was chosen to be part of a large representative schools competition.
Most well-known on home shores for being Captain of the Socceroos, Mile is also a familiar face in international football and plays as a defensive midfielder for Aston Villa in the EFL Championship League.
Jedinak’s professional career began with national premier league team, Sydney United in 2001, where he remained for 6 years. It was here he earned his first professional title – winning the NSW Premier League in 2006.
Following the title win, Jedinak earned a trial with the A-League’s Central Coast Mariners, who Jedinak went on to play for from 2006-2009, making eight appearances and helping the team achieve a Premier’s Plate in the 2007-08 season.
With international experience under his belt with Croatian and Turkish clubs and having played with the national Australian team from 2008; Jedinak moved across to the UK, signing with Crystal Palace in the Premier League in 2011. Jedinak soon became a crowd favourite and was handed the captain's armband in 2015. In 2016, Jedinak signed with Aston Villa.
Hisense is thrilled to have Jedinak on board #TeamHisense during the 2018 FIFA World Cup™.

Q&A with Ellyse Perry
What’s your most treasured sporting achievement?
EP: Representing Australia in two sports is a huge honour and achievement for me. It’s been a pretty special experience and one that I’ve really enjoyed. Winning a few World Cups and Big Bash titles are probably the top sporting achievements for me.
What is your pre-game routine?
EP: I'm pretty low key pregame. Normally, if we're not starting super early, I have a bit of a sleep in, and then I like to go for a walk and grab some brekkie. I like to have a good stretch in my room, and then just go to the ground and listen to some pretty chilled out music.
Do you have any quirky superstitions before a game?
EP: Nothing specific. I like having old gear, I don't really like new gear. I tend to hold on to stuff for a little bit longer than I should. If I use new gear, I like to wear it in at training first.
Is there any other sport you are itching to try?
EP: I really, really admire the Rugby Sevens girls. I'd like to try out, but I'm certain that I would end up a lot worse for wear from trying it. I think those girls are incredible athletes and I really liked watching them at the Olympics.
Have you been watching the Winter Olympics on TV?
EP: Yes, I've been really enjoying watching the Winter Olympics on my Hisense TV.
Where’s your favourite place to go on holiday and chill out?
EP: It's been a novelty to be at home, I really like a staycation. I love Palm Beach in Sydney because it's the furthest spot away from the city, whilst still being in Sydney.
